Voices International asbl

Voices International (VI) is a community choir in Luxembourg open to all adults of all levels of musical training and knowledge who enjoy singing in a group and performing for audiences.

We perform two seasons of concerts each year, the first in June and the second in December.

Several things that make Voices International unique are that we:

are truly international, with representation from 25 different nations
sing a wide variety of musical styles (rock, popular, vocal jazz, soul, blues, gospel, barbershop, traditional, classical and more)
memorize our music, which allows us more freedom to express what we're singing
mix a bit of choreography into our performances as well
sing many of our songs in English, but always include some songs in other languages in each repertoire

Voices International is going to New York City!

If you haven’t already heard, Voices International has applied for participation in an international choral festival in New York in June 2012, and we have been accepted! The committee has been discussing for quite a while the idea of taking part in a festival, so the invitation to apply for this one came at just the right time. The Rhythms of One World, a festival organised by the Friendship Ambassadors Foundation (FAF), will take place in the Manhattan area of New York City from 24th June to 1st July 2012. This festival, while geographically further afield than we had originally planned to go, is a very exciting opportunity for our members. We will take part in the celebration of the signing of the UN charter by singing in a massed choir concert (to include our own separate repertoire and one special song with the others) at the United Nations General Assembly. Next we will perform at least one – and possibly two – concerts of our own full repertoire (in a large church/cathedral or a professional musical venue), and finally we’ll perform with the other participating groups at the very prestigious Lincoln Centre.
