Making Impact Through Music

Voices International is a non-profit charitable organization registered as asbl (association sans but lucratif) under Luxembourg law since 2004. Through the power of music and community, we have been making a difference in children’s lives around the world for over two decades.

Every concert we perform serves a dual purpose: bringing beautiful music to our audiences while raising funds for charities. From our inception, we have maintained an unwavering commitment to supporting organizations that literally change children’s lives for the better.

We perform also pop-up concert for charities events.

In 2026, we are supporting the following organisations:

The Luxembourg Rett Syndrome Association (ALSR) is an organization dedicated to supporting people with Rett syndrome and their families in Luxembourg. It works to raise awareness, provide mutual support, and promote research, collaborating with networks such as ALAN (Rare Diseases Luxembourg). It advocates for greater recognition of those affected, notably by launching petitions for support for family caregivers, and offers contacts for assistance and information.

EFID is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a cohesive society based on understanding and tolerance. We are committed to empowering all individuals, particularly migrants, refugees, and women, by providing them with opportunities to reach their full potential and make a positive impact on society.

They provide assistance to the parents to help them understand and support their grieving children. This may involve counseling, activities, or programs designed to help them express their feelings and cope with their emotions. Trauerwee offers training for adults such as teachers to educate them about the grieving process and increase the awareness of the needs of bereaved children and young people. The ME/CFS Research Foundation supports and initiates research projects on Long COVID and ME/CFS, which is a severe disease of the nervous and immune system that usually occurs after an infection. Patients have a very low quality of life and often a high degree of disability. Friendship Luxembourg works with vulnerable people in hard-to-reach communities of Bangladesh to address their most vital needs and help them transform their life.
The story of Friendship started in 2002 when Runa Khan had the idea to bring healthcare services to ultra-poor communities in Northern Bangladesh, leaving on shifting river islands, known as โ€œcharsโ€, of the Brahmaputra river using a hospital ship (“Friend-Ship”). This area dominated by the huge and fertile Bengal delta is in first line of climate change, and more and more frequently suffers natural disasters: floods in the North (2 to 3 per year), and cyclones in the south coastal area.
Quickly Runa realised that a single approach cannot solve development needs of poor and remote communities. So using a โ€œneeds-basedโ€ approach, they soon developed with the communities new services to provide access not only to health but also to education, climate- change adaptation, awareness of citizensโ€™ rights etcโ€ฆ

One of these is the NALEDI Projects NGO, which provides help to orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa, more precisely in the area of Johannesburg and Pretoria (Gauteng province) by carrying out specific projects. Their primary concerns for these children are health provisions, healthy nutrition and education.

We also supported the local charity A.T.E. (Association Thรฉrapie Equestre a.s.b.l.), which sponsors horse therapy for children, using contact with horses as therapy as part of a healing process.

As our third selected charity for 2010 proceeds, we once again supported the very worthy charity Amitiรฉ Am Sand-Amizero.

Sozialequipe Por Bouneweg, which has as one of its aims to provide assistance to local children in need.

The Smile Train, providing corrective cleft lip and palate surgery to children in developing countries. All of these groups do works that literally change childrenโ€™s lives for the better, and thatโ€™s exactly what we endeavor to do with the proceeds of our performances.

We were happy to have been able to donate โ‚ฌ2,000 to each of these three charities from the proceeds of 2008 concerts, in total 6.000โ‚ฌ.

With the proceeds of its 2007 concerts Voices International donated โ‚ฌ2,000 to each of three charities, in total โ‚ฌ6,000.

Unlike many charities that do many different things, The Smile Train is focused on solving a single problem: cleft lip and palate. Clefts are a major problem in developing countries where there are millions of children who are suffering with unrepaired clefts. Most cannot eat or speak properly. Arenโ€™t allowed to attend school or hold a job. And face very difficult lives filled with shame and isolation, pain and heartache. The good news is that every single child with a cleft can be helped with surgery that costs as little as $250 and takes as little as 45 minutes. With our โ‚ฌ2,000 donation, we financed surgery and the chance for a normal and healthy life for 12 children like these from around the world.

The mission of Ile aux Clowns is simple but important, and is in fact two-fold: it not only helps sick children, but in the process it provides jobs for the unemployed. Ile aux Clowns trains unemployed people to act as clowns, and then sends them to visit sick children in hospitals around Luxembourg. The formerly unemployed clowns are paid for their efforts, which provides them a source of income.

Arche de Noรฉ is an orphanage in Burundi that takes in children from the streets. It has been in existence since 1993, weathering both the civil war and the outbreak of AIDS. Many Burundian children have had to resort to the streets, living on their own, without shelter, a place to sleep and adult supervision. They have no guarantee of a meal or any food on a regular basis; moreover, once they are faced with living in the streets, they are tempted by drugs and prostitution, contributing to the risk of exposure to AIDS. The goal of Arche de Noe is to help these children to overcome the hardships of their situations without parents, food and shelter. With the help of the catholic church, this organization has been created so the children can have a place to rest and recover from their street life. Those who wish can stay and learn a trade. Those who have no desire to accept the resources and services can at least take a shower and have a hot meal.

With proceeds of its June 2006 concerts, Voices International donated $2,200 to the International Community School in Decatur, Georgia, USA. Our former and founding musical director, Peggy Jenks, transferred to this school over the summer and is teaching music to refugee children.  There are 19 students in the 5th & 6th Grades from Afghanistan, Kurdistan, Burma, Congo, Iraq, U.S., Mexico, and possibly other countries who are studying “beginning instruments”. Through donations either of money or of instruments, they each have an instrument to play. They now have music stands, necessary accessories like oil, grease, reeds, straps, music, and a few African drums. This is a difficult challenge for Peggy, as many of the students have learning and behavioral issues as well as English-speaking and writing issues. Peggy tells us that the staff of the school are amazingly talented and very committed to teaching these children.

We have received the grateful thanks from not only Peggy, but from the school’s administration, for our donation. Peggy feels that learning an instrument will give these students something very special in their lives. They unfortunately live in very unsafe apartment complexes with drugs, gangs, and guns out in the open. The International Community School is trying to create a safe place emotionally and physically for these special students.

With the proceeds of our Christmas 2005 concerts we will make a donation to provide relief to โ€œStreet Childrenโ€ฟ in Kabul, Afghanistan.  In particular, our donation will contribute toward keeping these kids warm and properly nourished during what is predicted to be an even colder than usual Afghan winter. We are very fortunate to have made direct contact with an American on the ground in Kabul who is personally coordinating relief efforts, so we can provide the funds knowing that they will be put to good use immediately, without the risk of bureaucratic intervention slowing down the process.

Aslan’s Brazilian Beneficent Association (ABBA) – Associaรงรฃo Brasileira Beneficente Aslan helps children in Sao Paolo, by taking them off the Street and providing them a place to live. ABBA then enrols them in a school and teaches them the basic social rules and discipline. Finally ABBA puts them back into contact with their families.

Proyecto Salesiano, the Ecuadorian Street Children’s Project helps to keep underprivileged children off the streets and in school.

In 2003 Voices International donated โ‚ฌ2000 to Les Amis de l’Inde, which has, among other notable projects, helped to establish and maintain the “KIRAN” Village, a centre in India for children who are either physically handicapped or financially underprivileged

Initially Voices International supported The China Project to build schools in underdeveloped regions of China. Voices International donated to this project until it was complete.
