Voices International (VI) is a choral group in Luxembourg open to all adults of all levels of musical training and knowledge who enjoy singing in a group and performing for audiences. We perform two seasons of concerts each year, the first in June and the second in December. Voices International rehearses weekly on Monday evenings at 19:00. There are also several Wednesday rehearsals, especially close to the performance period.
Several things that make Voices International unique are that we:
- Voices International uses English as its main working language.
- This season we have 28 different Nationalities represented.
- We sing a wide variety of musical styles.
- We sing many of our songs in English, but always include some songs in other languages in each repertoire
- Concert proceeds go to support local and international charities.
What does it take to be a member?
There is no minimum requirement for prior musical training or experience, but you must be willing to attend rehearsals very regularly and spend the required additional time practicing on your own to learn the repertoire. We do check that each member knows the music before they are allowed to participate in the concerts but there is no formal audition to get started. In order to help the members learn the music we provide them with practice tracks and other tools to aid in the learning process.
We are also a very sociable group, and some of us usually end up together for a drink and/or a meal after each rehearsal and performance.
